THOUGHT: Respondents had at least $1 million in investable assets, excluding any real estate or retirement accounts and Fidelity noted the wealthiest 5% of Americans hold more than 55% of the nation’s wealth.
Where do I start? Seriously?!? There’s just no pleasing some people, huh?
Well, one of the most important concepts any successful marketer must master is empathy. So let’s empathize, shall we?
I wonder how much of this sentiment is a defense mechanism kicking in? During the most challenging economic era since the Great Depression, it would hardly seem appropriate to shout from the rooftops how wonderfully well off you are. Millionaires no doubt feel the effect of the diminishing dollar just as all the rest of us do.
If your target market are the wealthy, you’d be wise to understand not just their psychology but the attitudes of the rest of society toward them as well.
