HOW AMERICANS USE EMAIL

ExactTarget

95% of online Americans use email.

93% receive at least one permission-based email a day.

83% check their email at least once a day.

64% check it several times a day.

THOUGHT: For all the talk about social media, I’m amazed at how often I see examples of organizations who have yet to master the fundamentals of email communications.

If you want to learn how to use email well, how to use it to get people to do stuff, look to the political world. Look to how political campaigns use email for single purposes: To raise money, volunteers, or to get out the vote.
