A Fair(y) Use Tale

Professor Eric Faden of Bucknell University created this humorous, yet informative, review of copyright principles delivered through the words of the very folks we can thank for nearly endless copyright terms. Found at .

This video explains fair use through the fair use of Disney movies and [see comments below] in which Disney demanded a fee for use of their copyrighted images in a book that had included them under fair use provisions.

Thanks for sharing this video, but to clarify – Faden did this video 3 years before the case of Disney insisting on charging for fair use images for my book. Disney has a long history of being overly restrictive on copyright (particularly ironic, given that most of the company’s biggest animated films were adaptations of public domain stories!) – my story is a recent one, but not the trigger for this video.
