Last month I went to a superb presentation on local marketing and location-based services like Foursquare by Asif Khan, the founder of the Location-Based Marketing Association, that was hosted by the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association.
The presentation was excellent but on the final slide of Kahn’s deck, he included a QR code. While an obvious element to a presentation about location marketing, the actual execution had some problems.
I tried to scan the code unsuccessfully three times. The reason it didn’t work, I think, was the dimness of the room coupled with the small size of the QR code.
Great idea but it also highlights the need for plenty of real-world testing where QR codes are concerned.
