LINKEDIN’S MOST (AND LEAST) CONNECTED WORDS
People with the word Recruiters in their LinkedIn title or summary are 40% more connected than the average LinkedIn user.
People with the word Jesus on their profile are 60% less connected than the average user.
THOUGHT: I doubt it would surprise anyone who uses LinkedIn that recruiters are among its most devoted users…and its most connected.
Nor do I think it would surprise many people that the clergy are not all about LinkedIn. What is a little surprising, though, is that words characteristic of health professionals are among the least connected: Technician, Surgeon, Psychotherapy, Plastic, Surgery, Anxiety, Trauma, Chiropractic, Nursing, Therapist, and Dentistry are all among the 20 least connected words.
While the higher you are on the health care career food chain, the less likely you are to benefit from LinkedIn, I’m surprised to see words like Nursing and Technician among the least connected. You’d think they’d be utilizing LinkedIn as a career tool as much as anyone.
Conversely, nine of the top twenty most connected words are directly related to employment: Recruiters, Recruiter, Recruiting, Candidates, Seeker, Recruitment, Staffing and Placements.
What that says loud and clear is that if you are in the market for a job, you really ought to be using LinkedIn. What it says for businesses is that you need a LinkedIn presence as a tool to attract talent, if for no other reason.
Out of sight, out of mind.
KEYWORD WEDNESDAY: Sixty-two percent of the searches for “Occupy Wall Street” are conducted by men and 50% of searches for that phrase are executed by people aged 25-44, according to Yahoo! Clues.
